i think that they are having a bad relationship as friends because i believe that a boy is betwin the two girls and they say in the song what are their feelings about that.
It's a good song. It's about physical appearace and it tries to tell us that it isn't important how we look if we're not happy with ourselves. It has no sense that we're pretty physically if we don't FEEL pretty inside. I think Rachel feels unpretty inside and insecure. Both of them are feeling sad and unhappy and maybe this is because they're not going well between them.
First of all, this is a very nice song, I think that show how many girls feel, and how they try to be better (physically) in different ways and the damage that they make to themselves with her comments or actions. The point is that this kind of "beauty competitions" have no sense, because you have to (as the song say) "Look inside you and find out who you are", you have to be originial, I really hope that with this kind of videos people learn and change, to see the "good" sides of the situations. On the other hand... Quinn's bullying comes from her own insecurities. She try to make others unhappy because she is unhappy inside, she can´t see how beautiful she is... and Rachel feel bad too, it seems to me that she wants to work more and more with her beauty. They feel this way because they don´t want to accept how they are, they want to be PERFECT, and the perfection doesn´t exist...
I think they both feel insecure about themselves and they don´t know what to do. Quinn feels sad and insecure inside so she tries to make others feel the same way but she doesn´t realize how beautiful she is outside. Rachel feels good on the outside (My outsides are cool) but inside she feels sad, that´s what it refers in the song (My insides are blue) so she tries to improve her appearance to look more beautiful, but obviouly this doesn´t work. I think it´s a very nice song, this is a problem that many girls usually have, as shows in the song you can do everything to look better outside but you will still feel sad inside,you have to be yourself.
You're right, girls are more likely to suffer from this kind of insecurity and want to please others instead of being themselves; a good way to help them is to reassure them if we believe they are behaving or feeling in that way..
In the first time, i like so much the song. Now there are many problems like this in the schools or in the groups of tennegers, they want to try to be like other person and try to changed some things to belong to a group of friends for example.There are so much bulling nowadays. On the other hand, i think that Quinn want to feel better to Rachael and that is the reason that makes her feel bad.
Nowadays it is common, like you said, that teenagers try to change aspects of their personality to please others, nothing could be worse for the development of their personality..
I think it is very common nowadays to see competition that develops between people, selfishness and lack of respect and love for oneself, to the extent that such competition end up ruining your appearance and at the end when it passes the time feel empty. It's a shame that man having a big intelligence to come to this ...

It's true, these two girls do not get along, and may be as a consequence of their own insecurities.
